This is a WikiPedia link to DW 1911 model designations. I know we already have a lot of this info in the Archive, but there are some great links to articles about DW 1911's as well.

I was especially interested to discover that there was a limited run of PMDP's inspired by Grand Master shooter and gunsmith Dave Pruitt.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

The Dave Pruitt Pointman was the first Dan Wesson I ever owned and my first 1911, this also is one of my favorite shooters to take to the range. I have several DW 1911's and this is still my fave to have in the range bag.

This is what started the dwas

The big visual clue that you're looking at a PMDP is that the forward and rear cocking serrations are "chevron" style pointing front and rear on the slide. I've searched on a couple of 1911 sites, and the guys that have them really seem to like them.

Here's an old page from Lew Horton's with some DW 1911's
