Just won a bid on gun broker for a new DW PM-38 and would like some feedback on said pistol. This is my first .38 Super so I’m kind of excited.

Are the super barrels fully supported?

Am I the only guy who owns one of these things?
Internet searches turn up nothing not even on youtube.

It is a terrific caliber…never owned one, but the stats are impressive.

If you're going to drink, don't drive. Don't even putt.

brusus51- if you already own it, then just look at the chamber to tell if it is supported or non supported….

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

My first 1911 was a Kimber in .38 Super I purchased many years ago.  I was able to shoot it very well, had no problems with any type of ammo I purchased at the time. My accuracy with this pistol was good, matter of fact I shot this better than my other handguns.  But after purchasing several Dan Wesson 1911’s, one in 9mm, the other in .45 ACP,  I sold the Kimber. But I missed the .38 Super so I just purchased a Pointman-38 as I think the fit and finish of the Dan Wesson is superior to the Kimber.  I am waiting for it to be shipped to my LGS.

I think you will be very pleased with this caliber, but be prepared to pay a bit more for ammo – and to get the most out of it, try to use match-quality ammo (true with all calibers I know).  You will like the results.  Enjoy!
