OfflineI have what I thought was a 14-2 pistol pack. Never heard of nor saw one. Now I know that people have been making packs from parts for many years. It came with Dan Wesson black suitcase and has a 14-2 label on the side that says 6in. I think I know the answer, but I just realized this after probably 15 years of ownership.
Greatly appreciate any and all replies
They made 14-2 packs and the black suitcase was used for early 1970s packs and perhaps in late 1974 or early 1975 for the new dash 2s. Also a black case was used near the end of Monson production in the late 1980s. The labels on a pack don't say pack. One barrel length is usually specified, either 6" or 8" . Do all the Barrel Assmblies have 14-2 shrouds? If there are 15-2 shrouds it was a put together pack.
I see the pictures now. Yes ,the serial number tells the story. Dash 2s serial numbers start at 50,000. The black case with no cloth was used in the very begining of dash 2 production. Your gun dates from late 1974 and I think it is an original pack.
I see the label now. That is not the original label . That label dates to post 1986. The zebra is also from probably from the later time. There were no DW medallions when the gun was made. The Powerwood grip was original to the gun.

How do I tell if original shrouds. Also, any idea of value. I've never seen another
By original he means if they are all 14-2 shrouds. Looking at the picture, it appears the 2.5, 4, 6 are all 14-2. I cannot see the top of the 8"
14-2 shroud end
15-2 shroud end
straight rib 15-2 and sloped rib 14-2
