It has the little silhouette on the end of the barrel.
It's a nice little gun, but I never really took to it.
I am wondering what kind of value it may have.
I have the box and paperwork and it's in nice shape.
I am thinking it's one of those things that really needs the right buyer.
Thoughts on value/price range ?
Thanks, DaveV

Is this a single actio only gun? Does it have the Bomar front hooded sight? Does it have Bomar rear sights? Is this a Monson gun? Those answeres and a few more pictures would be helpful in coming up with a value.
BTW Welcome to the forum, we like pictures so post away!

It is single action, no hood on the front sight.
It shoots ok, it really prefers target ammo, I've had no luck with cheap ammo in this one. It has proably been ten years since I last shot it in the NRA 50yd indoor range. The front sight fits really too tight into the rear sight - sight picture. We now have a 40yd range at my club, I will probably take it out to the range again and see if I can handle the 10" barrel length offhand.

Good looking gun, it's fairly uncommon so it's kind of tough to pin down a value, my guess would be $500+. The market for this is a little limited, SA only and real long barrel.
My experience with .22 lr, both revolver and auto, is that each gun can be kind of finicky about it's preferences, not always based on price. I've had some shoot very well with bulk ammo and poorly with premium brands. I normally have 8-10 different brands on hand to experiment with.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Thanks for the , very nice looking gun. It looks to be a Palmer gun, and its not the SRS with the Bomar sights, but is single action. I'd guess this gun would bring $500-$750 depending on who is bidding at the moment. An SRS gun could be worth considerably more.
Give the boys on here a shot at this if you decide to sell it. I wouldn't mind having that in my collection. Would be fun at the range when you pull it out.
Anybody remember the movie Johny Dangerously with Eastwood and Reynolds? I always laughed at the part where they kept pulling longer barreled guns out of their pants. I always think of that movie when I see these 10, 12, and 15 BAs.

Fargin Bastages! Always liked how they morphed the dialogue so it wasn't actually cursing.
Right dialogue, wrong actors. Don't know why I thought it was Eastwood and Reynolds, its Devito, Keyton and Joe Piscapoe.
The mind is the first thing to go
Sorry varmint243 for the detour, now back on topic.

I am not opposed to keeping it, and I am not opposed to selling it, but it would take a buyer that really wanted it to be willing lay out $500 + shipping and transfer making it closer to $550-$600. The sad thing is, I believe in my heart that there is a shooter that would really like it to compete with, I would eventually like to see it go to someone who really wanted it, and wanted to put it to work knocking down silhouettes.
I especially love stainless .22s and just don't understand why I never warmed up to this one. I rarely sell a gun, they all have their purpose. I think it's time to take it to the range again and see how we get along together. I will post some 40yd offhand targets after the weekend.

Take the bad boy out to the range and run a few hundred rounds thru it. You may want to keep it after all. If you do decide you are letting it go, post it in the for sale section here before you put it online. Its free and it will most certainly find a good home with a member here.
Your price seems very reasonable, I'd ask for more if it were my gun.

Nice one! One just popped up on gb and went away pretty quick, on a for near your start! Yes it is in Kansas now! I have a blue 22 silhouette that I picked up at a gun show! The guy had bought it new, shot it for several years, selling it because his old eyes weren't what they used to be. I won't even share the price of that one. It has been back to the factory years ago for some tuning then a trigger job.
Hey, let us know if you decided to turn loose of it I would be interested to add a Stainless to the mix! Oh the other 722 my brother picked up! These and little Dan's seem to be among the Dan's that don't show up often!

I tend to prefer a dot sight these days. I didn't think that I would start loosing my ability to use iron sights so quickly, but it has. On a good day I can still make use of iron sights, but there seems to be more effort involved. If I decided to D&T is there a factory hole pattern and base, or a widely accepted best practice for where to locate the holes and what base to use ?

I really like the looks of the blue target/bull barrel with the vents on the bottom.

I tend to shoot a good bit tighter with my MKII, 22/45, 22A, and M41.
They all have dot sights on them.
I am thinking more about adding a dot sight to to the DW.
I did not find much info on the best mount to use.
It doesnt look like the B-Square is still in production.
Paper is 8-1/2 x 11 printer paer, dots are 1-5/8, 6"papaer plate, 12rds fired at each.

To answer your question on the best mount to use:
#1-Leupold rings that will clamp directly ti the vent rib. They appear for auction several times a year and always sell at a premium, $200-300+ as I recall
#2- Burris "no drill" clamp on mount
This one is on a 715, so except for the barrel length, this is how it would look on your 722. When available, they commonly auction up to $100
#3-bSquare mount
Same scope and shroud. These are more commonly available and always auction at less than $100
#4-Beuhler mount that clamps on above the cylinder
Requires removal of the rear sight, uses Beuhler rings and goes over the cylinder, not on the shroud. EWK made a limited run of something very similar with a picatinny rail that I use for a red dot on my 722
#1-3 are listed in order of desirability, each step involving more weight, bulk, and height above bore axis. Obviously, the reverse relationship exists as regards availablilty and cost. #4 is a very different item, I know one is Sold Pending Funds in our "Want to Sell" and it included rings for $100
This pretty much sums up the non-D&T options that are normally available for your existing shroud
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I have (obviously) scoped a pistol once, and I was pretty unhappy with the results BECAUSE I fell into the "bigger is better" trap. I scoped with equipment far beyond my needs and abilities, and hated it. If I ever do this again (and since I frequently do not learn a lesson the first time, I might), it will be a simple, light, 2x "helper" for my aging eyes. For the shooting I do, it's all I need.
