I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I have never seen one before...a 90% complete factory stainless 22 Magnum Heavy Barrel Pistol Pac!!drool The first day I saw it on Gun Broker, I knew it would probably command at least a $2.5K price tag & possibly more. Well, it topped out at $3,058...and that's even with dinky, crappy pics. If it had some decent hi-def pics, I bet it would have been more like $4K.

Here's a couple of the seller's "full size" shots from the auction...

You have to admit--for a Pac we never see, that isn't a bad price.  I've never even held a 22 mag part for a DW.

If it was on GB, probably at least $2K, I bet. The only one I've seen so far, is the one pictured below. A seller offered it here on the dwf-sign in August of '09 for $1195. At the time, I was in the process of buying a group of five 'Chops, so it was a decision of either the 22M Pac or the 'Chops...you probably know which direction I turned.wink

It sold before I could gather up enough beans to go after it.frown

Yeah, I way overpaid on that one.

But, It's only the 2nd Monson 722mag I've ever found in 24 years of searching.

The other also was a 722M pistol pac, bought it 15 minutes after auction posted with Buy it now. Seller called me the next day & said he went to register the gun (???) and it came back stolen. Right. I'd say someone contacted him with a higher offer than his BIN price. But, how do you prove anything?

Anyway, looking forward to receiving it. Maybe these high auction prices will prompt CZ to hurry up reintroducing the revolvers, and in calibers that someone might actually buy. Sorry, but I think reintroducing the 357mag first was a mistake. Those are a dime a dozen. The Supermags should have been first, (445, 414 and a limited run of 375) - (I don't think the 357SM would be a hot seller.) Throw in the 460SM.  Then rimfires (along with the 17HMR). Next your large frame "4" series (41, 44, 45). The 357 mag would have been the last "reissue". Great guns, but I don't think the current demand in there. People want big bore magnums or rimfires right now.

Ok soapbox retracted. Watch CZ bring back the 22mag now at 1/3 the price I paid.

Oh well, we can dream can't we?

Had a Palmer NIB I bought from an ad in Shotgun News.(Just the gun, not a pack) Turned out to be from Bob Serva, he had just bought the assets of Wesson Firearms from Carol & Seth Wesson. Sold it on GB @ 2 years ago. Seems like it went for @ $650. Pretty much what I had paid back in 92-93(?)

That blued pack Charger showed is nice.

Never saw one of those before in 22M.

El Hombre;

You're lucky that that major server crash happened when it did or the other guy would have gotten another bid and you guys could have gone back and forth for another couple of hours.

For future reference, it doesn't do any good to wait until the last few seconds to bid on GB.  Anytime you place a bid, the end time becomes 15 minutes further out.  Both of you were waiting until the last few seconds on every bid.  All that did was extend the end time by a lot.

Consider yourself lucky to have gotten that at that price.  They are super rare.

I hope you plane to shoot it.  Oh, and how about some better pics when it gets here.

Enjoy,

smile

Congrats on the winning bid!!! I didn't even thingk they ever would have made a pac in .22 mag. I figured that was more of  competition caliber.

Soap Box, Ballot Box, Ammo Box

in that order.

4 Monson Model 15's

1 Palmer FB 15

1 Rossi 357 Model 92 (lever)

1 CZ 75B

Nice score! I watched it start out low than explode on GB. A rare find for sure.

Congratulations!

El Hombre +1 on the list of new guns CZ should make. I don't know about a .375. I think a .357 SM would be more accesible to most people. Easier to reload.worship
