Yes That is what I have found I have tried several different ways and I cannot get them to get a blue , They may be blue in the beginning but over time they will turn the Barney, I dod all the polishing and bluing for precision small arms they build the Baby Browning out in Aspen and they had the same problem when I first started doing there guns about 3 years ago, and they are investment cast, and what they found was there was to much Silica in the steel to make it flow easier and the Silica reacts with the Salts and taht is were the different colors come from once the silica content was reduced it gives a beautiful blue Job, you can check them out at
