OfflineFinally, took my M44-6HV out to testfire today before sending it off to Mark for rebluing.
Load; 18 grains of 2400,240gr.Hardcast SWC, WLP. Chrono'd at 1325fps.
The good; All six rounds successfully fired, three by me,three by accomplice at 25 yards, benched. Groupsize was 2".
The Bad; All six primers looked identical, slightly off-centered strikes.
The Ugly; When you open the Cylinder, cant the revolver top towards you slightly and look at the line between the bottom of the Cylinder and the Frame-opening and hold it up to the light, it definitely runs downhill towards the rear of the Cylinder. If you look at the photos I posted earlier, you can see the rubline at the rear where it's rubbing against the frame-opening at the rear. Looks like I have a slightly bent crane. no sense in having Mark reblue it without repairing it first. Hopefully, it won't cost an arm and a leg to fix.

OfflineDave- Check with Mark, he may be able to replace the crane for you. I doubt that he has one, but I'll bet you could have DW/CZ could ship one direct to him.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

OfflineMark is DWF member "hotbluer", he was the bluer for Dan Wesson while it was owned by Bob Serva (pre-CZ). He has done bluing for several members here, and he can do some repairs as well.

Who is this 'Mark" and how does one contact him?
If it were mine, I'd try to straighten the crane myself after confirming that you can replace it.
Straightening a crane is not as easy as you would think... crane jigs were developed for a reason.

There'd be no sport in it if it was easy
Figuring out how to do it would be the fun part.
