OfflineHate to see Grippers get chopped. Try some penetrating oil into the grip screw holes and down both sides from the top, and lots of patience and wiggling.
Note to all who read this-Never install rubber grips on a DW without putting a film of lubricant on the tang and the inside of the grip.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

OfflineI thought I was gonna have to cut this one off the first time I used it. It's the tightest fitting Pachmayr I've got.
I quickly learned to squirt some oil on there before I install. One time, I forgot to put the grip screw in before I hit the range…it didn't budge.
I've used it a few more times since then & haven't used the grip screw those times, either…it still doesn't budge & I have to give it couple good yanks to get it off. That's even with using oil first.

.... lots of tugging/twisting/pulling will get it off eventually...

Thanks for all the tips so far!
-- I've been there buddy... It is amazing how tight they can get after sitting for 20+ years. Everytime I get one on GB, I wonder what kind of wrestling match I'm in for....never had to cut one yet !!!

Yep, for sure!
