Hey all,

So, I've got what is probably a stupid question but hell, someone else might have tried this, and might have some answers.

Has anyone tried to see if the .38 pork chop barrel fits in the .357 pork chop shroud? I have a Model 8-2 and finding a .38 specific shroud is a suuuuper pain. If they are compatible I could just snap up a .357 shroud and save some time. If anyone happens to have both, I'd be grateful if you tried and reported back!

Can't say for sure as I've never owned a .38 Special Dan. But I do know this; pork chop barrels are 1/4 inch shorter than standard DW barrels, so a standard barrel will stick out 1/4 inch beyond the shroud assuming it fits otherwise.

Model 8 and 14 shrouds are identical except for the roll mark. However, 8 front sight is higher than a 8-1. You can file an 8 to work with an 8-1 but not vice versa.
