OfflineI had the same issue with slow reloads until I picked up a speed loader, and it made a bigger difference than I expected. Getting mags topped off without tearing up my thumbs was a relief, and the reload time dropped a lot. The universal fit was handy since I switch between a couple of calibers, so it kept things simple.

"SAVE THE THUMBS"
Last year I took a CHP class. Everyone used autos, mostly 9mm. I'm a revolver guy but cheated for this class and used a Beretta 92. (I'm also a 1911 .45 fan, but I had to buy factory ammo for the class and 9mm was a LOT cheaper especially considering most of the brass was non retrievable.)
Old man thumbs and in no time, I was hurting loading the mags over and over.
A couple of the guys had UpLULA magazine loaders and showed the rest of us how easy they were to use. I spend a fair amount of time on the range, but I never paid attention to how people were loading their mags. as long as they were safe. I bought several of the UpLULA loaders to fit most of the semi-autos I shoot.
I've got a box of speed loaders to cover most of the revolvers.
