I picked up two barrels and they came in the original 1979 boxes and oiled storage paper. The problem is that the barrels and the provenance provided don’t seem to sync. The barrels are pristine, no wear at all and potentially not fired.
The oiled paper is pretty torn up and worn. Seems to me that the box and paper wrapping should be in better shape when compared to the barrels.
Anyway I am happy either way but I would like to know if the age of the barrels can be determined. They have the standard Monson .357 CTG label. When was the Monson style labeling discontinued? I just don’t want to present the barrels with false provenance.
