Hi I have a CTG 357 mag I got from my father recently.  after I fire the gun about 10 rounds the gun get covered with powder or something do I have a problem or am I using bad powder . I forgot to mention my father reloads is what i use thank you

!st you need to check the barrel/cylinder gap, as a too large gap can allow too much gas and unburned powder escape, an easy fix with the .006 gauge and the DW tool.  If that is correct, then yes it might be the powder, as too slow a powder, as in some rifle powders, can cause alot of fowling, post the kind of powder and bullet wt you are using.  Is it accurate?  If so and all else is correct, then shoot and enjoy, my B/P revolvers and my hands look like I played with them in fireplace ashes after a day of shooting, still much fun and soap and water cleanup, unlike modern powders, but there's many good solvents that will put it back in shape with minimal work.goodluckcool
