Does anyone have any idea of how close to the end of the barrel a scope can be without worrying about muzzle blast damage?
I had this scope on a 15-2 8VH using a B Square mount but thought I'd give this a try.

Not sure but as long as the scope ends before the muzzle you should be ok. Close as you can to the rear keeps extra weight off the muzzle end. EWK has a great mount for the RH barrel. It brings the eyepiece several inches to the rear.(picatinny adapter)

I'd feel a little more comfortable if the scope sat at least an inch further back. Where it is you can expect carbon fouling on the objective and the potential for debris hitting it as well.
Hope is not a course of action
