I have a DW 44mag with 2",4",6", 8" barrel shrouds.
I bought a 445 Supermag with a 10" barrel.
I would like to use any of the barre/shroud combos on either gun.
The problem is with the shrouds cutout for the ejector rod. I contacted Dan Wesson and was given a price to mill the 44mag shrouds so the longer 445 ejector rod would fit.
I measured the 44mag and the 445 supermag ejector rod and saw not a huge difference in the lenght. This made me wonder if I swapped a 44 mag ejector rod for the 445 rod in the 445 I would still have plenty of travel for case ejection and would not have to have the shrouds milled.
Am I missing something?

I'd try it and see how it works. You can just swap the rods and see what happens, nothing to loose.
