Just picked up my first DW. Its a 357 Super Mag. It came with the original box but no manual or barrel tool. Question is what caliber is the extra barrel? What else am I missing?

I would assume the spare is a .357SM (maximum) if it were anything else, it wouldn't screw into the frame....
Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

I am sure it will be a 357 super mag.

I would guess that that is a 357 SuperMag barrel. One barrel is probably vented and the other is not.

The early gun rag writers claimed accelerated forcing cone erosion, along with the top strap cutting, with the original Remington ammunition. Ruger, in response, pulled their revolver from the market. Dan Wesson packaged an extra barrel with the 357 Maximum. In the real world, handloading with heavier bullets, I really haven't heard of anyone having issues with forcing cone erosion, and the top strap cutting was self limiting. ( No top straps eventually cut in two as the gun rag writers predicted.)
