There is/ was a Forum created listing of dates per serial number but I don't know how to find it. I do remember approximate dates per serial number. To be C&R it needs to be 50 years old I believe. That would be born before spring of 1976. Only 38/357 small frame guns would qualify. Around serial number 100,000 or lower. Below 50,000 would be pork chops . That would be late 1974. 22lr debuted in early 1979. I hope this info helps.

Its only as good as the information submitted and there are many errors but it's as close as you're going to get, these days. Steve had a better resource but that was lost with his passing, unfortunately.

OfflineI just got a HS MKIII and I had it sent thru FFL. My ffl seemed to thinknit required ffl transfer, despite its adequate due to it being a 'modern' firearm. Whatever that means.

OfflineHello all, this is my first time on this site as I just became a member. I just purchased a model 15-2 that was manufactured in Monson from a local gun shop/ range. The serial number stamped on it is 104559. It did not come with the box or any paperwork. It did come with both the 4in barrel attached and the 8in barrel and feeler gauge and barrel wrench. I was wanting to know the production date if that is possible with the info I provided. Thank you

OfflineIt is me again. I forgot to mention in my earlier post that my pistol in question has 357 magnum ct6 stamped on both barrels. Hope this is of some help. I realize that I can't get an exact date of production without paperwork, but was wanting to know time frame of production. Thanks again
