I found a Monson 744 HV with a 6 inch barrel and an extra 8 inch HV barrel. The gun is in 95% condition and i was curious of the value of the gun and the extra barrel. I know it is definitely worth the $580 asking price but was curious of the value with the 2 barrels? I don't have a DW 44 and I assume the value is around $800+? I only have 3 DW 357s and a DW 22. I am probably going to pick this 744 up tomorrow. I was just curious fo value even though I know it is worth more than the asking price.

The price is not only good, it is GTDW in one man's opinion. I would press the BIN button. $800 with both barrels would be a good price. A couple of hundred more is not unreasonable at auction. I am missing the 8"VH for a complete VH set. I would plunk down $300 for one in a heartbeat.

Rule of thumb for me and used BA/ barrel price is $200-250 for BA and $50 for barrels alone. 744s run, on average, $650-750. Hope that helps, Ron

The gun was sold this morning before I could get back to buy it! I wish I had the cash on me yesterday. Lesson learned.

It only takes a couple of dan lovers to pick an area's gun shops clean. The only ones that don't sell are the ones they also list on Gunbroker with to high a starting price or reserve.
