I just got a great Dan Wesson revolver, can you tell me more about it I think it maybe a 722, below are some more details
the serial number seem low or was that for this series and not to many made?
How old is it?
And if allowed on this forum what is it worth?

to the
. What you have sounds like a model 722. Probably produced around 1989. Not super rare but not super common either. Prices on Dans move a good bit but I would say on auction any where between $400 to $600 depending on condition and or which way the wind is blowing. Others may give better info.

Hey LB what does that SA mean??
I generally see SXXXXXXXXX where the X's are numbers for a Stainless gun... but SA??
So Abell check this:
Can the gun be shot both in single action and double action?
Single action cock the hammer and pull the trigger
Double action, pull the trigger on an uncocked gun. The hammer should work both ways.
Congrats!
Soap Box, Ballot Box, Ammo Box
in that order.

Many of the DW Stainless guns have a serial number containing a 2 letter combination of S and another letter, one of the 3 722's in the S/N Registry is also "SA". Other calibers have SC/SD/SB, etc.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

You have the vent light barrel, which makes it a few oz. lighter than the vent heavy barrel or the non vented heavy barrel. Originally from the Monson plant; the vent light was slightly more than the vh, as all the barrel shrouds were made heavy or vent heavy and milled for light or light slotted. The light and slotted additions were to insure the guns made wt in IHSMA competition, The full lug DW was at about max wt for caliber and any change of sight or grip could throw it over, so DW threw in the options so as factory add ons they were legal modifications. A great score and a fine shooter. You might have to play around with the bullets to see what it likes best, some are picky, although the one I had shot best with the cheapest bulk bullets at the time.
