Hi All,
I just found (at my local dealer) a Dan Wesson 22 pistol pack, in great (like new) condition, for $600. Of course, I purchased it! What do you think?
I have a DW 357 maximum 8″ which is a real nice gun, if rather heavy. It is certainly very accurate.
Does anyone have a 22 pistol pack, and what do you think of them?
Thanks for the info!

OfflineWelcome to Dan Wesson Forum, I can only say that you did GREAT.
We have a phrase around here for what you pulled off-GTDW=Grand Theft Dan Wesson
I don't have a Pack, I do have a 722 that is terrific. I am sort of on a quest to get a couple more barrels and build my own Pack.
Your other DW is a beauty as well. When you have a chance, stop by New Members and tell us more about yourself.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

OfflineWhat do I think about that? I think you should sell it to me for $650.
Seriously, that is a great price and it looks in excellent condition. The Max is one of my favorites. I have a stainless silhouette version and a 6" nickel VH one. Lots of power out to 200 meters from that gun, and the recoil is less than a .44 Mag.

Thanks Guys for the info, much appreciated.
I have been looking for a DW 22 for a while and this just 'appeared' after I got my tax refund 🙂 Good timing.
I' love to get a 6 inch barrel for the 357 Max, the 8 inch with scope is too heavy for comfortable offhand shooting, and I am a big guy. It certainly tames the recoil though. I am using 180 grs lasercast over 20 grains of H110, shoots great.
I recently passed on a DW 44 mag with 4 and 8 inch barrels I saw recently, and am kind of regretting it now. It had the big wooden hook grip (not the Zebra), and just the barrels and tool. No other accessories.

OfflineWell sounds like you got the DWAS in full effect already. I think we all have flet the regret over letting something go. I think a 6" Supermag barrel would be a great addition to the .357. I have been looking for one for awhile myself.

OfflineLast night I took the scope and mount of the DW 357 Supermag, it sits much better in the hand now. Previously the scope made it too 'nose heavy' and it was uncomfortable to shoot.
Now it is heavy, but correctly balanced and shoots much better. I should have done this ages ago.
Well today I took the DW 357 Max out for a spin without the scope mount.
Here are results shooting 25 yards offhand, with its favorite load (so far):
180 grain bullet (laser cast) over 20 grain of H110
It will shoot a 1 inch group with this load at 25 yards off sandbags with a scope. I am sure that with a decent pistol rest it would shoot better.
Very pleased.

Mr. Well Fed irishman.
I don't have a .22 yet, but it's on my "need" list for sure.
How long have you had your SuperMag? I do have one of those, and yes...it's a little heavier than that .22 would be.
