Traded for a 445. Palmer gun but with what looks to be a Norwich barrel shroud. Barrel length is not marked on the box but the end has "RCVR" hand written on it. Anyone aware of DW ever delivering guns without barrels and shrouds?

I haven't come across any frames only in an original box but anything is possible. Back in the day special orders were common so it may very well be that a frame only was ordered and shipped. What Norwich barrel is on it?

I would guess that this one might have been sold as a receiver only (RCVR?) and the barrel was a later add-on by someone to make it a complete gun.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

In IHMSA80x80's Member Collection, he states that he owned a 741 that he had 2 barrel assemblies for. Later he ordered just a 741 frame to use with his extra BA. So yes I am sure back in the day you could order just a frame, or receiver.
Speaking of, where has that IHMSA guy been lately anyway?
