I have a DW M-12 with the original outside barrel nut and a 6" barrel and shroud with the recessed barrel nut. I purchased a
2.5" and 4" recessed nut shroud-and found they are too short. The company just cut the shrouds to accept the recessed barrel nut, the barrels sticks out of the shroud too much to allow the recessed barrel nut to seat properly.

That is true. You need a 21/4" and 33/4" barrel tubes. They are sometimes for sale on ebay or you can contact Eric at EWK and he can make one for you the next time he makes barrels if he doesn't have one in Stock. Or sell the two two shrouds you have on eBay and get the right one.
