I recently purchased a used Dan Wesson .44 mag w/ 6" barrel #004953 w/ black matte finish. Is this an unusual color for this revolver? Not even sure what model # or born date. Looks to be in very nice condition . Is there any original factory paper work, boxes, parts available ?

I personally have not seen any matte black 44's that are factory. Perhaps someone had the gun refinished, Parkerization or Cerracote come to mind.
