Getting around to looking at the 41 mag I recently acquired. The gun locks up tight in the foreward direction but the cylinder can be rotated backwards without touching the trigger. I haven't taken the gun apart yet but from looking at diagrams, I'm guessing it has something to do with either the bolt or the bolt plunger, just don't know what it is.
Is there any danger in shooting the gun this way? The timing is fine as is cylinder alignment, it just won't lock up in reverse. I may need to wait for winter to have sufficient time to do this job right.
Anything worth doing is worth doing well.
