Took time today for the first time ever with the Dan Wesson 32 IHMSA Field Pistol at the range.  Prior to shooting this my only .32 experience was with the S&W .32 airweight revolver which is semi close to accurate at about 10'.  I fired all the rounds at one target at 25-yards with a two hand hold no bench.  I had all handloads with me.  most were Sierra 90-grain JHP's and a few 100- grain XTP's I had left and still others were cast lead.  The target represents 3- sight adjustments and 5- different powders.  WW231, Unique, IMR 4227, Bullseye and Blue Dot.  The amazing thing is with all the variations and some shooters error shots, the group that this revolver was able to produce was amazing to me.  Usually with just a powder change I see a difference that causes an adjustment.  Trigger was very light and crisp, a real pleasure.

Very nice shooting.  I'll bet that was real fun.  Have you decided on one particular load combination?

The loads using Unique I beilieve delivered the best overall group.  I plan to work on some loads for the cast leads and also 85 grain XTP's I have recently acquired.

I'll try a larger photo, the forst time it was too large.

Nice shooting.  Nice gun.  I've never shot a 32.  How different is it from a 22 or a 38?

95XL883,

The .32 just gives a slight POP when fired about like a reduced load 38 special, especially out of the VH8 barrell.

CF,

The nickel .32 were all Starline I bought 500-pieces from Blue star when I first got a .32.
