Hello,
Sometimes the crane lock clip has a flat side and sometimes it doesnt. This grinding on the clip allows for precise positioning in relation to the frame....Should the flat side be towards the muzzle or the trigger ????

Elk I think if there is a flat side worn, it will go towards muzzle end. If you look at Shootists pics in the AJT, the moon clip rides against the crane hindge. Just an observation. I know mine is round and the extra is as well.
