Finally made the big prototype I've always wanted. Used an old cracked target grip and poured resin over it, then carved out the shape. Glad it's done and over with.

I was going for the ivory theme after the 50th Anniversary 1911. Hard to stick regular paint on smooth plastic, so I used the best plastic primer that wouldn't scratch off after an hour and then coated the thing with three coats of ivory toned appliance epoxy, and that's why it looks so good sitting on the kitchen counter.
