California makes it difficult to bring/transfer Dan Wesson revolvers into the state. One of the exceptions is to have it made into single action only. From a gunsmithing standpoint what exactly is done to convert a small frame 22lr to single action only? Thanks.

I am not privy on the legal details - but why does California make it difficult to import a revolver?

I believe it is the hammer that is different between SAO and DA. The factory probably has some in stock and anyone familiar with Dan's could change the parts.

If you can get the hammer from Dan Wesson you could very eaily change it out. The Average Joe Tuneup thread will show you how to take a DW apart. Dans are designed to not need gunsmiths for most repairs and changes. Very user friendly. The part is a drop in item.
