OfflineDoes any one here use a version of hot bluing known as medium temp bluing?
A couple of companies offer their chemicals in small enough amounts for an amateur to try.
Instead of boiling the caustic solution at 300* it does the same at 200*. They say no fumes or roiling, much safer and it meets the same mil specs as does the traditonal way.
I see where cold bluing does not create the magnetite, it just colors the metal.
