44VH Hand Pin replacement

I had the pin on the hand beak on me the last time I went shooting. I ordered a replacement from DW, but the pin seems to need to be compressed into the hand. Does anyone have any experience with this? The part number is 38 on the blow up diagram, it shows them together and as one unit.

I haven't had to replace one, so I can only speculate. However, you're probably right in your assumption that it will need to be press fit. If you feel it's above your skill level, I'd bet that a competent gunsmith could fix you up pretty quickly.
