I purchased a Springfield Armory Mil Spec 1911 about four years ago. The serial number is NM21417X. A friend of mine says that these were made in Brazil. I can find no mention of Brazil anywhere on this 1911. I've inspected it about five times and have field stripped it and still can find no mention of Brazil. My question is...was it made in Brazil? It says: SPRINGFIELD INC.
GENESEO IL USA then the serial number.

I have a Springfield M6 survival rifle--one side says;
SPRINGFIELD INC.
GENESEO IL USA
The other side has the CZ logo and Czech republic. It is indeed made overseas for Springfield.
Not sure about the status of yours.
