OfflineMitch here from Lisle, IL. My Dan Wesson (Monson .357 15-2, 6" barrel w/heavy shroud) was the first firearm I ever purchased in 1979. I had walked into a small gun shop in Carbondale, IL (I went to school at SIU-C) looking to purchase a .22LR revolver (I already had a .22 rifle my father had given me). However, sitting right next to the new Ruger Single Six .22LR/.22Mag Convertible was a very stout looking revolver that looked quite impressive. I asked the owner about it and was informed that it was a Dan Wesson .357 Mag, gently used. The new Ruger was about $175 and the used Dan Wesson was only slightly more at $180. I became the proud owner of a Dan Wesson .357 and never looked back at the Single Six. An older and wiser LEO I knew then hooked me up with a local reloader and admonished me to to not "waste my money" on magnum loads until I was proficient with .38 wad cutters. I've since bought other revolvers, semi-auto pistols, shotguns, TC Contenders (and multiple barrels), hunting rifles and milsurp pistols and rifles but the Dan Wesson is still my favorite and will NEVER be sold.

OfflineMitch-Welcome to the Forum. I got your Serial Number info, thanks.
There is a Member here selling a Model 22, I think the asking price was $400, pretty reasonable.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Mitch! I was born at Scott AFB, lived there and in Champaign for many years. You have the essential Dan Wesson. What is going to be your next one?
