Hello Everyone,

I'm a new member here. I decided to join after recently acquiring a Model 722 Stainless .22 with 3 barrels. My history with Dan Wesson goes back to the first handgun I ever purchased in about 1979. It was a Model 15-2 6" .357 Mag. I was intrigued by the interchangeable barrel concept and wasn't disappointed with the accuracy and reliability. I regrettably sold it after about 4 years with only about 500 rounds through it. Wish I had that one back.

My current .22 has a serial number of A00140 and was wondering what the year of manufacture was?

Look forward to browsing and soaking in the knowledge on this forum.

A beautiful First Issue you have there. The Norwich guns were made most likely between 2000 and 2004 the extra barrels you have are Monson and are older than the gun. They were made in the 1980,s at some point. They do not match the gun bit work just fine on the gun. The First Issues had the matching serial number printed on the barrel as well as the frame so very little chance of finding one to match with same serial number in fact it's very possible their was never a matching barrel made for that gun. first Issues are highly collectible and rare so you did good on that gun! Welcome to the forum!

Thanks Stmstan 445,

That's exactly the information I was looking for. I was hoping is was an early 2000's manufacture. I have the original box and it only indicates the 8" configuration so the barrels were in fact added later. I'm on the lookout now for a 6" barrel to fill the gap. I'd like to find a VH barrel but they are tough to find.

Welcome to the world of Dan Wesson collecting.  They are like Lay's potato chips, NO ONE can stop with just one. They become an addiction called dwas, Dan Wesson Acquisition Syndrome!!!

Got my first DW (.44) circa 1981.  The .44 was my only DW for several years, but I'm currently at 14 revolvers and seven 1911's.

Seems like these could be early warning signs.  You guys think I'm at risk of contracting dwas???

Regards,

Jim
