Hello, I'm Billy, new member here down in south texas.
Hope to learn something new and figure out these odd serial numbers. I was given a dan wesson from my dad and I'm not exactly sure what model, year, etc. that it is.
Anyhow looking forward to gaining some new knowledge.

Start describing what you've got or post some pics and we'll figure it out for you. What caliber is it? Blued or stainless. Barrel length?
The most common models are small frame .357 magnum and large frame .44 magnum.

Stinger, I appreciate it.
It's a blued 357 mag. Rib vented 6" barrel.
Made in Monson with a 6 digit serial number. All numbers, no letters.
I will try to get a picture of it tonight.

Model 15-2 with a 6" Vented Rib barrel assembly. It most likely came with a Target grip, that you can find on eBay.
If you give us the first four digits of the S/N, we can tell you the approximate year of manufacture.
