SteelyDanMan (Dave), to the
You know, it's not often that a newbie comes here with a quad count of 445 SM's as their introduction into Dan Wessons, so that by itself is pretty cool. Considering that you have a love for the big boomers, it's not surprising that you entered your foray into DW's with 445's. What's even more surprising is that you now own 4 of these, but you have yet to actually fire one, to compare the recoil with other big boomers?
Is that what I read?
Like you, I too enjoy the big boomers, and have fired a few large bore-hand stinging handguns. The largest caliber I currently own chambers the .454 Casull, which is a fairly stout round itself. Myself, I would rate the 445 SM a click or two under the Casull. Although I did fire the two guns about two months apart, so I was just running on memory. One day I should take both guns to the range the same time.
You were asking about load data...currently, my go-to load is;
29gr 4227 powder, CCI 350 primer, Speer 300gr Bullet, medium crimp.
I have gone hotter on the powder, but have experienced bullet jump past the crimp. Maybe if I dialed the bullet weight down a bit, it may cure the jump, I just haven't tested it yet. I like heavy bullets that hit HARD!

Thanks to all for their introductions and information! I apologize for the lousy photography!.....but I'd like to get at least one other barrel/shroud in 6".
There are options out there:
Email Genny @ DW: genny@cz-usa.com (She is our DW Angel) and ask if she can find one. (But, Stan my have cleaned out the warehouse)
Buy a 6" 44 Mag Barrel Assembly: https://shop.cz-usa.com/dw-products/revolver/barrels-shrouds.html?product_list_limit=all and have a Gunsmith elongate the ejector slot.
epay?
or buy another 445 with a 6"
