Always wanted a 44 mag and in Canada with the new gun laws coming one was hard to come by. I ended up finding a Dan Wesson 744 heavy vent ported one. I still haven’t seen the gun but I’m curious if the ports are plugged and the shrouds stuck if it’s possible to get them off and if they are plugged and I can’t get the barrel and shroud off if it’ll still be fine to shoot and just not be able to change barrels

Welcome tho the forum from PA! Don't see why you couldn't keep shooting it, its just not ported anymore it's like a solid barrel. Hope you can get the original removed as that is what sets the DW's apart from the other revo's.

With a lot of work anything is possible. Research past threads about stuck shrouds. Soak it.

Okay I’m not sure if it’s stuck or not but was just curious incase it was stuck if I’d still be able to shoot it with it stuck and the ports plugged. Hard to find a barrel for these up here anyways so I doubt I will ever be changing it. Just didn’t want to ruin the gun by shooting it. I also read that this gun should be able to handle Buffalo bore loads to? Is that correct

Yes, the Dan can easily handle Buffalo Bore and other hot rounds.
