whats up everybody im new to the forum and guns i picked up a dan wesson model 14 and iv been trying to find out what year it was made i was hoping somebody here could help me out so any help would be appreciated

Welcome to the DWF !!! We'll need the serial number to date your DW. The model 14 is a great gun for CCW with a snubby barrel.

aboard Johnson…I see from your screen name that you're a fancier of the sea-going boats. Probably from around the Boston area? Yep, gotta love those salty-aqua type vessels, I suppose. Haven't been there myself.

Welcome to the forum, if you can't find the answers to your questions here they won't be found anywhere. There are some very smart folks that hang out here, with more information about DW revolvers than anywhere else on the internet, I don't happen to be one of them thats why I hang out here to learn. Looks like you have a Model 14 Porkchop, which would be a fixed sight gun from 1975 ~ 1972. Judging from the s/n, I'm betting it's closer to the 1975 end. Should be (and looks like) a satin blue finish service revolver.
Any larger pics available? The Grips are aftermarket...most likely Pachmayr, which isn't bad & are usually comfy.
