I have fell in love with the DW line of handguns. I currently only own three 8" .357 ,8" .32, and a valor 1911 all in stainless. I cant find much on the 32mag but being in the original box I figured it was worth the $400 I took off on trade. Everything I've read seems really informative. Great Forum!

The biggest thing is what you are going to use it for. The rifles in the picture range from $650 to over $4000. The mill spec 1/7 twist barrels sometimes wont stabilize under 55gr bullets and the 1/9 twist commercal barrels don't handle 75gr bullets well. I like the 1/8 stainless uppers from palmetto state armory. They are a good middle of the road upper. The lowers dont really matter much since all the parts are interchangeable. Although, I have seen some polymer lowers for next to nothing and you will probibly get what you pay for with them.

Thanks Magic Smoke. He surprised me with the wanting one. I had no clue until we were at Cabela's and he asked to hold one. At this point it would be strictly target shooting. At some point we will start taking four legged critters with it. Thanks for the clear explanation on twist rates. I was confused by what I've read so far. Guess I need to figure out what weight bullets we would need for coyotes, hogs and deer. (I have the impression that the 5.56 caliber is marginal for deer and hogs. Thus we will have to limit those shots to shorter range (80 yds?), broadside shots with near perfect placement on smaller hogs and smaller deer.) Thanks for the Palmetto State reference. I read another good report on them this morning. I'll check them out. Thanks again.

I'm no AR expert, but I know one pretty well. After handling the S&W M&P Sport at the Smith and Wesson Shooting Center was that it is a great entry level type AR. They are regularly available in this area for just under $600. The Palmetto State Armory guns get really good feedback on THR very regularly, and Del Ton appears to have some good "starter" stuff as well
