Found this forum after purchasing my first DW (model 14) a couple of days ago. Thank you to all the members who have posted so much useful information. It’s been interesting reading. Hope that I can add something here and there as I continue to learn about these fascinating guns.

I’ve been into the shooting sports for the past 13 years or so but this is only my second revolver. I’ve heard about the good reputation of Dan Wesson firearms but am just getting started with the deep dive. I have to admit, the unique qualities of these guns interested me but the clincher was that the 14 reminded me of a beefier version of the S&W model 10 that I have always regretted selling. I hope I become as fond of this new (to me) revolver as I was of the old 10!

Welcome from Colorado!

If the DW was properly maintained, you'll love it. I own a S&W model 10 and, while it's an excellent revolver, you'll find that the accuracy on the DW is superior.
