Offline[Image Can Not Be Found]My first DW was a .357max in 1984 to do IHMSA…Ain't nothin' like knocking steel down at 200m with a handgun…Also 3 deer with the max..When I mooved to central FL from the mountains of NY I got into USPSA w/Para 14:45…a real good gun..and did IDPD w/Colt Defender Plus..a 3″ gun that has been 100% (I know…unbelievable)
Then came the CBOB and it is truely life changing…
It's sure not my first 1911 assembled by these guys and to keep this short I can ditto all the great stuff everyone wrote on the other forums (1911 & XD) about all their work..
I've said it there and want to get on the band wagon here too..
How about a CBOB-9mm? Hmmmmmmm?
An alloy frame CBOB would be my next if they made it…. https://www.danwessonforum.com/wp-content/forum-resources/forum-smileys/', '

OfflineZenfly,
to the
. Nice trio of 1911's you started with there. The 357 Max is one outstandingly accurate cartridge too. Glad you had the opportunity at one point to shoot IHMSA, I wish I could. I am not very educated on the trends of the 1911 pistol cartridges, what would the real benefit be of a 9MM over a 40 S&W? Thanks for sharing your background and photos.

OfflineWelcome Zenfly.
We're glad to have you join our forum. While I have a lot of Dan's, the only 1911 I have is a Kimber.
I really do prefer revolvers but maybe the next 1911 I buy will be a Dan. One of the rules here is that you have to post
as often as possible, so let's get with it fella.

Zenfly,
I know what you mean about DW 1911s!
I just couldn't figure out what the big deal was about 1911's then I started reading the 1911forum.com and all the comments about DW's quality.
DW 1911's are few and far between in my parts but I finally stumbled across a used and was able to handle it. When you pick one up you can just tell it's a quality gun. I love my CBOB and would like to add more DW 1911's to the collection!

from another IHMSA shooter. I started in 1985 and am still going strong with it...7 days a month at my local range. The .357 SuperMag was my first Dan Wesson, and it got me my first Revolver 40x40 many years ago. I also want to find a DW 1911 of some kind, since all these guys here convinced me I need one! It's on my short list now.

And heres where I started..6 guns..long barrels,,and far away targets…
I shot IHMSA with open sights…the scope was for testing loads..
Top 29 S&W .44 for fly fishing in bear country..and my DW.357max
then 2 S&W .22s and my Ruger auto…left out my little J-frame .32 HR mag..

The plus is it doesn't look like guns.. https://www.danwessonforum.com/wp-content/forum-resources/forum-smileys/', '

1911 pistols can get to be a real expensive sport. I started down that path for a short time but it led to a dead end
I still have a Para Ordnance Tac-Four, a Sig GSR Revolution and a Dan Wesson Panther. All of them 45 ACP. I also had an AMT Javelina 10mm for a while but traded it off.
I'm more of a revolver fan with Dan Wesson my overwhelming favorite.
