Just bought a DW Commander Bobtail 1911 in .45acp. What a deal. Exellent fit and finish and a great shooter. Came with the box but only one mag. Who has the best deal on quality 7rd mags for this beast?

Jeff- Welcome to DWF. We don't have a lot of 1911 guys here yet. I use Chip McCormick Power Mags in my 1911's, and thay are available many places, good pricing is usually available at Midway. A good quality Commander magazine should work, but I find that my Pointman is so well fitted that it doesn't tolerate cheap magazines well, so by for quality.

My indoor range has Chip's 8rd mags, but no 7rd ones, will the 8's work okay but just hang down a bit further? They do have a sizable mag base.

Should be fine. Check the prices, Midway has them on sale for about $21.
