I had a Dan Wesson .357 magnum about 22 years ago and sold it to buy a contender. Well I am just getting into reloading and decided I "needed" a .44 magnum.
Found a Stainless 6" made in Palmer, Mass in excellent condition at my price range, so I guess I am back in the family. It is a fixed barrel.
I don't know if the .357 I had had a fixed barrel or not. At the time, I wasn't even aware that they had removable barrels.

I sold my Dan years ago and just recently got back into it as well. This seems to be a consistant pattern around these parts.

I too had one "back in the day" and found my way back!
Odds are that your .357 had changable barrels, as the vast majority manufactured did - but you never know...
