Not sure what that finish is called...bead blasted or sand blasted?? But I am speaking of the grayish finish on the top strap and rib to soak up any glare.
Are there any remedies for those Dan's that have had this wear off from a scope mount? I am thinking matt gray rustolium is not the answer:)

Like Harly said to restore the look you can have them bead blasted. A year or so ago I sent a couple stainless barrel shrouds to EWK and he blasted the top straps, they came out great, like new. I do not believe he can receive whole firearms though through the mail just parts like the barrel.
