Ok, with all the talk lately of heavily used/beater DW's I figured it was time to start a thread. I already have a few of my own, but I bought this one today as a new project.

I'll update the post and add some pics tonight. So post your ugly pics here–doesn't matter if it is a lifetime beater, or one you plan to restore/customize–It just has to be UGLY (if there is such a thing as an ugly gun 
) And yes, any brand, not just DW's.

Looks like the perfect project gun, what is the plan for this one?
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

That one looks like it's certainly been on some ride-along's, but should still have some good miles left in it.
I don't have any beaters yet, but am on the lookout.

Not exactly GTDW (maybe if I parted it out on GB)... I did it offine. Got it for $350 shipped with both barrels and a wrench...not bad I guess. I saved on shipping, he saved on GB fees.

This is the only thing I have close to a beater. The auction pic here looked bad, but I got it for a great price. The grip was split, but it came with brass and dies.

After replacing the grip with one I had in stock, and a LOT of cleaning and polishing, it now looks like this.

Here is a Llama 9mm I bought in 2003–I walked into a pawn shop and said “show me the ugliest thing you got”…$160 and it was mine… (there is no bluing left on gun)
6 years and about a million rounds later I got around to refinishing it in parkerized…
Even ugly, it never jammed no matter what I put through it–it killed a lot of falling steel plates

I saw this on AA, one of two for sale. Looks like it was "destroyed" intentionally. Maybe a law enforcement thing??
