Hi everybody... i`ve been searching pages up `n down
, but i can`t quite figure out my serial no vs production date...
I have a model 40 with serial B0014xx , Monson MA.
one list i found , no serial began with "B00" only "e00", one said the revolver was manufactured in `95 (Monson broke up in `92?) - yet another list said `85---and a third (or was it the fourth...?) said the revolver left the factory in `82...
I`m humbly asking if anybody could help settle this...
If not...well it shoots great, regardless of the age... 
By the way..Southern Norway is bathing in sun, a screaming 12 degrees centergrade... in case you wondered...

From looking at our limited list, I believe the B numbers came after the non-prefix serials and before the E numbers, so I'd say between 1979 - 1982.

Born on dates are kinda hit and miss as the official records are in the hands of the ATF. Our records are just a compilation to get in the neighborhood. Most likely before 92 and my best guess would be late 80s. Either way nice SM.

It's been unseasonably warm here too, glad it's not just us.
Not that I'm complaining, because I really dislike the white crap!
