I know I'm being lazy. But I thought I could get the most complete history on these from you fine folks.
When did Dan Wesson start making pellet guns? They are all over "Youtube" and seem to be quite popular. They have a S&W style cylinder release and seem quite powerful.
I love to see other folks shoot their Dan Wesson firearms. But its a big let down when I see someone demonstrating a BB gun when I click on Dan Wesson.

Dan Wesson never made pellet or airsoft guns. Apparently they did license the name to somebody to use. Other than the signature they have no relationship or resemblance to the real thing.

They licensed the name to Gamo out of Barcelona, Spain - they are a major player in the airgun market. A few months back when I was visiting my wife's family in Madrid, I walked into a high-end department store and strolled through their hunting department and almost fell to the floor when I spotted a handgun in the case that said "DAN WESSON". It's a nice air revolver if that's what your game is.

I don't pretend to be a business man. I work with my hands as well as my brain. I can see how CZ/USA would benefit from renting out the name as well as Dan's signature. But how does the air gun manufacturer benefit from a name that to the general public is not that well known? I could see it if they used Smith and Wesson, Ruger, Glock etc.
But it is widely known to Dan Wesson fans that when you say his name folks respond:

Because they are putting something out there with "Wesson" in it, and not paying S&W for the use of the name. S&W style release, hmmmm?
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Got one for my daughter, nice air gun, accurate and looks nice. It does have a Smiff style release though.
