My brother swears that he had a Dan Wesson revolver back in the mid/late-90s that you could swap out the barrel and cylinder to convert it between a 44 and a 357/38. I'm thinking at best, it would have been a 44 frame that you could put a 357 barrel and special cylinder into.
Anyone ever hear of one of these? I'm thinking he got the interchangeable barrels mixed up with interchangable calibers.

Highly unlikely, you never know for sure with DW
Yeah, but, I DO know my brother!
I know where MY money would be placed! He said he never changed them and only had the "one caliber" so, I think it was a barrel, not a caliber change and he just misunderstood. The back hills of PA aren't known for being a test bed for ultra-rare prototype stuff, especially firearms.

If this is a .357/.44 caliber interchange in a DW it is:
1) A lawyer's Dream Come True
2) Never before seen in captivity
3) Revisit #1, and envision a .44 magnum taking a very short and dramatic journey (not very far) down a .357 barrel.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
