My dad asked me to find him a 22 revolver so he can practice shooting.  He wants a wheel gun, about the size of a 15-2 so he can plink, but retain the feel of his 14-2.  It bothers his hands to shoot alot of full on 38/357 but he wants to practice.  I know a DW 22 would be ideal, but he doesn't want to spend alot of money and we all know that DW 22s aren't exactly cheap.

OK give me your ideas.

Unfortunately I don't believe any double action 22s will be much cheaper. Maybe a Taurus, I'm not a fan of Taurus myself but some guys like them. Maybe try Charter Arms, I don't know if they have one or not. You may just have to hold out for a DW. I will keep an eye out for you.

+1 on this. I recognize that a DW .22 will command a higher price than some other .22's, but the benefit of practicing with exactly the same grip, cylinder release, weight, trigger...

I recently got a Model 22 for $499, and it came with an 8V that I sold off on DWF for $200. The buyer made out well and I got my 22-4V for $299, net. I can't say this will always happen, but if you just keep looking, you might find what you need.

I have a 22 and a 722, all the DW .22lr guns I need. When I stumble across another one, I'll give you a shout.

Friends don't let Friends buy a Taurus wink

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
