OfflineAnother really great book to recommend, The Times of the Sixties.
Articles about the decade of the Sixties, all from the New York Times. Very well organized, many, many pictures, and a remarkable sampling of what was happening throughout one of the formative times of modern America.
So far, I have paged through the entire book, read maybe fifty (out of a couple hundred) articles. I'm going back for more over the next couple of weeks, it's from the local library.
I grew up during this time, and I'm learning a lot. This is an entertaining, informative, easy read. Really, too much information for one "read through", but a lot of surprising stuff, sort of like trivia with deep background. In NY Times tradition, very informative, very little editorializing.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

OfflineI kept that one out for almost two weeks, as I paged through and read articles, sometimes just headlines, I kept saying "Hey, I remember that"
