John Stimson is pretty much the "Guru" of High Standard, and although it's been a long time since he has visited DWF, he is a Member here. You might reach out to him to see if more info is available.
From a "Connecticut Valley" firearms perspective, it's pretty cool to live about 10 miles from Hamden, CT (original home of High Standard) and about 30 miles from Monson, MA (original home of Dan Wesson). And of course, Colt, S&W, Charter Arms, Ruger, ...
