The last local public location I could go and shoot "anything" was forced to close by surrounding development. No longer is there a place that I can shoot beer bottles or explode things with Tannerite.
Even at the time of this pic below, the neighboring farm called the sheriff claiming I was firing on their property....nope. Since I was not the land-owner, and landowner was not present, I was invited to stop.....leave. I even tried to get him to shoot a pumpkin too.
But anyway, THIS TOPIC is for anyone that want to post your non-paper-target items you wanted to destroy with your Dan Wesson.

I used to go to an old homestead where in the summer you would find a hillside of melons. The more you shot/exploded the more the critters loved it and the more seeds got spread around so every new year more of the hill became covered in targets. I miss that about Oregon, you drop a seed and a plant grew🍉
In Florida you can shoot anywhere except across a road or at or over a house. Might be hard to do in a subdivision but if you have a couple of acres it isn't a problem. A deputy came out once because he had a complaint. When he saw what we were doing he apologized and hasn't been back in 12 years. The state law says no city or county can pass a law more stringent than the afore mentioned state law.

You do not have a problem because you are sitting on more than 1 acre. For those in residential areas with a dwelling density of more than one dwelling per acre, you need to fit into 790.15(4)(b). There's a risk, depending on who determines whether or not "the discharge does not pose a reasonably foreseeable risk to life, safety or property".
The 2024 Florida Statutes (including 2025 Special Session C)
I don't think I want to test this statute.
It could be said that every direction is over a house or road in a subdivision. Some folks build underground Pistol ranges. I guess it could double as a gun room,/man cave. I removed 200 dump truck loads of sand/ dirt and have a below grade range. Into the hill. My buddy got the sand for free and I got my range.

We have found that coconuts make a nice explosion when shooting. They are smaller so harder to hit and when you hit them they really make a nice boom. Also in the old days we would buy old TV's with an old style tube CRT and they are under pressure. They go boom but they are harder to find anymore. Also a bit bigger clean up as where coconuts are eaten by the critters so no clean up. The TV screens (again old style CRT type) are under a vacuum. We always make the TV the last shot of the day and start very far out everyone gets one shot with no scopes just pistols. If it takes too long then we start moving in a bit after every round.
